Title Examiner and/or Title Clerk

Examiners and Title Clerks deal with large amounts of property data & documents assembled from several different databases, such as township or county websites or other property information sites.  This information is reviewed, collated and organized into a product and delivered electronically to clients.   The property data and documents are mostly in electronic form but can be in paper form, too.  Title Examiner and Title Clerk roles require a strong attention to detail, concentration and comprehension.  Both of these important roles are performed sitting at a desk, working on a computer and interfacing simultaneously with multiple cloud systems. 

Title Examiner Tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Review deeds, trusts, judgments & affidavits relative to title matters and draw conclusions

  • Review chain of title for completeness or breaks in the chain

  • Communicate and confer with a supervisor or industry underwriters on matters title requirements & insurance risk

Title Examiner: Basic Requirements

  • Highly detailed and diligent with specifics

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Comfortable on the PC and using the internet

  • Strong typing, spelling, reading, comprehension & computer skills

  • Strong cognitive and deduction abilities

  • Title Exam, real estate or lending experience can be helpful

Escrow Closer

Escrow Closers work closely with real estate agents, lenders, buyers and sellers.  The Escrow Closer prepares for the closing by obtaining all items needed to provide a clear and insurable title. Closers work with lenders to meet their requirements. Closers coordinate and schedule closings and generate the final numbers for buyers and sellers.  Closer conducts the closing by briefly explaining documents, gathering signatures and notarizing required documents. The Closer also collects and disburses funds according to a final Closing Disclosure Statement.  

Escrow Closer Tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Timely communication with all parties

  • Communicate with real estate agents throughout the process

  • Implement solutions for all requirements necessary for closing and insuring

  • Prepare and finalize CD’s, HUDS, buy/sell statements

  • Prepare all required closing documents for signing and recording

  • Confirm lender requirements are met

  • Front transactions

  • Balance and fund files

  • Manage post-closing tasks, document storage, and delivery

  • Record documents

  • Share Customer Service Tasks with the Closing Team

Escrow Closer: Basic Requirements

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Proficient in multitasking

  • Strong cognitive and deduction abilities

  • Inquisitive

  • Enjoys dealing with people

  • Highly detailed and diligent with specifics

  • Strong typing, spelling, reading, comprehension & basic math skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Title Exam, real estate or lending experience can be helpful
