OUR STORY

"From the beginning, we knew it was all about the relationship with clients."

Our Story

When you find yourself unemployed on a Wednesday morning...you do things you never thought you could do and sometimes it’s someone else’s decision that requires you to act. That point is where America’s One Title finds its origin.

Mid-August of 2006 corporate life said goodbye to future America’s One Title founder, Dave Nichols, and it was that Wednesday, impacted by the decision of others, he was out of work. Initially, he decided that he’d had enough of the industry which cast him aside, but that frustration lasted only a few hours. Married with 2 young children and bills to pay, Dave knew that remaining in the real estate world, specifically title insurance, was his best option. He decided to continue forward in the field he knew best, in an industry that he enjoyed and working with so many people that he’d grown to love.

Core Values That Drive Our Business

We have 11 core values drive our company. For each value listed below is the biblical reference(s) that originate it. Regardless of what a person’s vocation is, how he/she performs it matters a great deal. These values represent how we desire to interact, both personally and corporately.

Exercise Morality

Exodus 20:2-17 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

“You shall have no other gods before[a] me.

“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.

You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

“You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.

Six days you shall labor and do all your work,

but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns.

For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

“You shall not murder.

“You shall not commit adultery.

“You shall not steal.

“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

Mark 8:36 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?

Be honest

Deuteronomy 25:13-16 Do not have two differing weights in your bag—one heavy, one light. Do not have two differing measures in your house—one large, one small. You must have accurate and honest weights and measures, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. For the Lord your God detests anyone who does these things, anyone who deals dishonestly.

Act with integrity

Proverbs 28:18 Whoever walks in integrity will be delivered, but he who is crooked in his ways will suddenly fall.

Proverbs 11:1 The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him.

Be Charitable

Hebrews 13:16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

2 Corinthians 9:7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Acts 20:35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’

Act with Humility

Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Proverbs 11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

Work Hard

Ecclesiastes 5:18-19 This is what I have observed to be good: that it is appropriate for a person to eat, to drink and to find satisfaction in their toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given them—for this is their lot. Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God.

Proverbs 14:23 All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.

Expect Profit & Multiplication

Matthew 25:20-21 And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here I have made five talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’

1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Matthew 6:19-21 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 13:23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

Mark 8:36 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?

Plan ahead

Proverbs 21:5 The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.

Respect others

Mark 12:30-31 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”

Colossians 4:1 Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven.

1 Timothy 5:18 For Scripture says, “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,”and “The worker deserves his wages.”

Serve with Excellence

Colossians 3:22-23 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.

Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Forgive One Another

Colossians 3:13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins He is faithful to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

"One of the things that we really love about America’s One is they create an experience at closing that is the lasting memory of our clients...it's a culmination of a lot of the work that we do, and America’s One comes along side of us at that critical moment and gets to celebrate with us.  I couldn’t ask for anybody to better represent us than America’s One."
